Let's get together for a Road trip down to Letchworth State Park for a day of hiking, Leaf Peeping and a Cook out!!! I personally would be using this day for a day of some photography and of course eating!! :D

Named in 2007 as one of the Top 100 Campgrounds in the nation.
Letchworth State Park, renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East," is one of the most scenically magnificent areas in the eastern U.S. The Genesee River roars through the gorge over three major waterfalls between cliffs--as high
as 600 feet in some places--surrounded by lush forests. Hikers can choose among 66 miles of hiking trails.

If you've never been here this is truly a spectacular place to visit. As I wrote in the thread this event would be a weather permitting event. So if it should rain or snow it will be cancelled. We would need people to help bring food for the cook out. I have a 40 quart wheeled cooler that will hold plenty of food. And I also have a 7 quart one for drinks or whatever. I will contact RSVPs concerning the food items we will need. Keeping things simple like hotdogs/hamburgers might be easier. But please feel free to bring what you'd like to eat if hotdogs and hamburgers aren't your thing. Because many of the pavillions are already reserved for the season it will be first come first serve with the cooking grills out there. I called and asked if it would be alright for me to bring my little Smokey Joe and they said it was okay.

Pets would also be welcome as I have checked Letchworth's rules. They would of course need to be on a leash not exceeding six feet in length. Proof of rabies inoculation is required. Please click onto the link to read more on
pet rules.

I know that this third week in October could be hit & miss with the foliage colors but I've enjoyed being at Letchworth during different times of the year and I assure alot of you it really is a great place no matter what time of year it is! I hope we can get a big group to join in on what promises to be a great event!!!

I will be in contact with RSVP's to give the exact location in Letchworth State Park.
