What to do for New Year's? Dance! That's what! Let's celebrate at Kennedy School where they will have 2 bands on the premises and will toast the New Year with a glass of champagne.

We will meet an hour before the bands start so that we can get a table and seats. Bring a jacket or shawl or something to throw on the chair so we can venture off if we want to. We will bounce to both the gym and the theater throughout the night. We'll make sure to come back to the theater to toast the New Year since we get our champagne for the toast in there.

Who are the bands playing?

Stump City Soul is a collection of life-long musicians from the Pacific Northwest with a passion for the solid gold hits of the 1960's and 70's. Stump City delivers high energy dance tunes guaranteed to take your event to that next level no matter the occasion.

The Strange Tones: The wildly entertaining Strange Tones have blended a unique concoction of original blues, rockabilly, surf, and vintage R&B, and finished it off with a private eye twist. They've shaken and stirred these elements into their own original sound and style known as Crime-A-Billy. Well-crafted songwriting, top notch musicianship, and a playful, engaging stage show have contributed to the band's induction into the Hall of Fame (Cascade Blues Association), and a multitude of awards for "Best Contemporary Blues Act", "Best Electric Guitar", "Best Northwest Recording", and "Best Vocals".
Led by the husband-and-wife team of Guitar Julie & bassist Andy Strange, and fortified by longtime partners guitarist Suburban Slim and drummer Andy Gauthier, this group forms "... one of Portland's most original and accomplished bands." - Oregonian

OVERNIGHT PACKAGES: McMenamins has a package for about $450 which includes the room, entry for 2 to the dance, $140 for dinner and drinks, $30 for breakfast. PLUS you get to go into the soaking pool. Sorry, Tripsters, coupons cannot be used.

***** ROOMMATE WANTED *****
If you want to stay the night but want to share the room, please state so on your RSVP in case others want split the cost with you. - Currently only queen beds are available.

PASSPORT HOLDERS: Bring them! They will have a special stamp, plus, I'm guessing their final gift will be something special that is New Year's related. I could be wrong but ya' never know.

Looking forward to seeing you on New Year's Eve!
