With all that is going on in the World & Country, I redesigned this Hike as an all are Welcome. I am guessing, some of you, would like to get away for a few hours. Well here is your chance.
We will be Walking / Hiking, to the Trail-Head, that leads to the Falls, you see in the Pic. It is about 2 Miles & you will be on a little used Country-Road.
The Falls are about a 12-20 Minute Hike thru the Woods. The Trail is not difficult, but the Views are Amazing, so you are welcome to stop & enjoy & take a few Pics.
Then there is the Journey thru the Gorge. My favorite comment in the Gorge came from a fellow Hiker, " I can't believe, I am still in R.I." I replied, " You are not, you are in Connecticut." She gave me that look, you know the look, do not be a smart aleck. You know what I mean. LOL The Gorge, You have to see it, to appreciate it. I actually feel like I am in another World, when I am in the Gorge. It is Very Calm & Peaceful.
The way back, we can go around Yawgoog Pond or Visit a Glacier Lake or just go back to our cars. Bring Snacks something to Drink, & Poles, if you use them.
Directions: Route 95 to exit 3B, Route 138 West. Be Careful as Route 138 West takes a Right turn in 1 mile or so. There is a flashing light at the turn. Follow 138 west and take a Left on Camp Yawgoog Road, ( There is a Large Sign) Just before you enter the Camp, take a Right and the Large Parking Lot is on the Right. You can not miss it. Note: DO NOT Enter the Camp.
